Six Centuries Chamber Choir

NEXT CONCERT: Friday 27th November 2015, St James's Church, Piccadilly: "Six Centuries of Christmas" (music by Lauridsen, Poulenc, Brahms, Bach, Biber ... )

Peter formed the Six Centruies Chamber Choir for its first concert in June 2015.

Peter sung a lot as a child, mainly in church choirs.  However as an adult he quickly discovered it was no longer as easy to sing as it had been back then ... as a treble he didn't have to think about it, it just happened (and apparantly happened quite well!).  So, for the last couple of years he has been having singing lessons, sung in a couple of opera choruses with Midsummer Opera, and has joined a local choir (Blackheath Choir).  All of this is with a view to understanding singing better - he has no pretensions to become a good singer!  This has naturally lead to a desire to form a choir, and here we are with the 6CCC.

The choir is doing exactly what its name suggests: performances of music spanning six centuries.  Peter is also adding professional instrumentalists to both accompany the choir and to perform instrumental music in between the choral works, and will for some concerts also have a poet to give a wider mix to the event.

The photos on this page are from the concert-day rehearsal for first concert, 21 June 2015, taken by Katja Goschke in St Silas Church, Risinghill Street, London.

If you would be interested to join the choir please contact Peter via the Contact button at the top right of this page.  You need to be a confident singer.
